We had another informative net tonight with 9 check-ins plus net control, Eric – KG6WXC and some chat room visitors! Tonight’s subjects included:

  • What DMR Hot Spots are recommended by the SBARC group?
  • Follow up to Dave, AI6VX’s question from last week regarding HTs and Base Stations not being able to communicate via the same repeater. A solution was found and it was the repeater.
  • How to connect to EchoLink with an Alinco DR635T?
  • How to find the WORLD talk group in my AnyTone radio.
  • Mesh Networking.

Tune in to the SBARC TM&E Net every Thursday at 8:00 PM local (2000 Hrs) and see what interesting questions will arise or ask some of your own! All club members and visitors are encouraged to check in to the net each week and join in with questions and /or answers to and contribute the knowledge of new and seasoned amateur radio operators alike.

Volunteer radio operators needed for Fiesta Parade!

20150807_134721

Santa Barbara Amateur Radio Club will provide communications support via amateur radio to the Fiesta Parade on August 3,2018. If you are interested in assisting, please contact Rick Whitaker at rickwhtr@cox.net. There are many open positions and operators will receive free lunch after the parade! Events can be a lot of fun and you will be working with a great SBARC team to provide a very valuable public service.

Due to the damage caused by the mudslides on Highway 192, the Santa Barbara Triathlon, which was scheduled for August 25, 2018, has been Officially CANCELLED. SBARC had been planning on providing communication support to this event. Mudslide and fire damage may impact several other events and our event support schedule might be less than what it normally is this year so we encourage you to sign up for Fiesta.

Post expires at 3:26pm on Tuesday July 31st, 2018 but will still be available in the archives.
