Technical Mentoring and Elmering Net – 10/4/2018

The audio archive of this net can best be followed by downloading the .mp3 file for the appropriate date here and listening with the media player of your choice. You can move the progress slider forward or backward to the subject of interest to you.

We had another informative net tonight with 9 check-ins plus net control, Brian, K6BPM and some chat room visitors. Tonight’s subjects included:

  • What is the latest propagation report in general, K5CAW ran a wire out his apartment window to a tree and is having trouble picking up HF signals. He can hear WWV on 10 MHz and some CW on other bands, some short wave broadcast stations but that’s about it.
  • AREDN Mesh Network update.
  •  Former Shackmaster Dave, K6HWN’s “Mine” break and how it is / was used. (Hint – review the TM&E Net audio archive on March 5th, 2015 here https://www.sbarc.org/audio-archives/Technical%20Mentoring%20Net/2015-03-05%20Technical%20Mentoring%20Net.mp3).

Tune in to the SBARC TM&E Net every Thursday at 8:00 PM local (2000 Hrs) and see what interesting questions will arise or ask some of your own! All club members and visitors are encouraged to check in to the net each week and join in with questions and /or answers and contribute the knowledge of new and seasoned amateur radio operators alike.
