We had another informative net tonight with 7 check-ins plus net control, Chuck – K5CAW and some chat room visitors! Tonight’s subjects included:

  • Chuck, K5CAW asked about the Tuesday night digital modes net and how it went, we split the net between our standard VHF repeater and DMR. Hint, it went very well.
  • Question about the new Baofeng DMR radio and how good is it? Hint, not so good so far.
  • Announcement – Brian, K6BPM announced a DMR class at the club station this Saturday from 10-11:30 AM for anyone interested. The class will be held upstairs in the Red Cross building.
  • Mark, KM6SBL is getting back into ham radio after about 10 years and is looking for suggestions for an HF rig, he’s considering a Kenwood TS-450S.
  • ESR – Equivalent Series Resistance in reference to electrolytic capacitors.

Tune in to the SBARC TM&E Net every Thursday at 8:00 PM local (2000 Hrs) and see what interesting questions will arise or ask some of your own! All club members and visitors are encouraged to check in to the net each week and join in with questions and /or answers to and contribute the knowledge of new and seasoned amateur radio operators alike.
