W6R Special Event Station

February 6, 2011 will mark the centennial of Ronald W. Reagan, the 40th president of the United States. In commemoration, SBARC will operate a special event station, W6R, on February 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th. The event begins at 0000 February 4th, and ends at 2359 February 7th (local time). Plans are to operate the Club Station, the Rover, mobile, and home stations at various periods during these four days. Only one station will operate at a time, as W6R.

All SBARC members are invited to participate at the Club Station. Technicians are welcome to participate at the club station, because a control operator will be present.

Operational guidelines for individual mobile or fixed operation as W6R under your amateur radio license are as follows:

1. You must be an SBARC member.
2. Operational periods will be coordinated and booked through the Trustee at 805-964-7432.
3. Operations will be limited to your individual license class level.
4. No simultaneous operations will be permitted (more than one station at any period).
5. Keep an accurate log, to turn in to the Trustee for QSL service (SASE only). Use UTC time.
