Contesting SIG

Current News and Information

February 25, 2000

It is that time of year that we start preparing for SBARC's biggest operating event of the year FIELD DAY. This year we will be at the same great location at Elings Park next to the hang gliders. Traditionally it is always the last full weekend of June, so this year the exact dates are June 22-24. We set up on Friday and operate 24 hours from 1100 PST on Saturday to 1100 PST on Sunday.

As always we will have the same devoted individuals that are there every year. We would like to have all those new upgrades with HF capability to join in the fun. everyone who wants jump in and try contesting has a chance ever weekend from either their own QTH and fellow members QTH or the The Club Station is available with prior notification.

I have been the Field Day chairman to many times to remember. However this year I will be on site for that weekend but due to a major trade show in Chicago in mid June I will not be able to chair it this year or help with the organizational end. So one the cadre that has been on site should be able to coordinate a team of hardened field day addicts. Contact either myself, Al WA6VNN or Lou N6ZKJ and put your hat in the ringer.

Meanwhile you can get your feet wet with this list March and April contest.
