If you are planning on attending the Championships and haven’t sent in your registration yet, please do so ASAP! Also please send an email to the event registrar, dennis at rain dot org, letting him know that the registration is on the way. Current information is available on our web site here.

All competitors will meet at Gorman to take the bus to the competition venues Friday and Saturday. People will need to provide their own lunches after the competitions.

If you are planning on attending any days of the training camp, please let us know so we can keep you informed of the schedule.

We are starting earlier than usual to avoid most of the midday heat. It is expected to be hot with temperatures approaching 100 degrees F in the afternoon, and we will have water at each control. I was out there on Sunday, June 6 and the weather was comfortable in the morning, and was up in the 90’s at noon.

8:00 AM - Bus arrives at MT Pinos

MT Pinos is a wonderful area for orienteering with lots of pine trees and no poison oak. The altitude ranges from about 7500 to 8500 feet. The temperature will probably be cool in the morning and warming up to the 70’s during the day.
