George (K6HOZ) was on his way to the fire station to pick up the ARES van while Steve (AC6T), Jug (WA6MBZ), and I (Al WA6VNN) made ourselves busy with the assembly of the two Force 12 - C4 antennas. Jug and Harry (K6PDQ) delivered tables and chairs while Marborg arrived with sanitation service for our team. Dick (W6DNN) hauled in the generator with the help of Bill (W1UUQ). Wally (W7AMI) was enlisted as standby for tower hauling.
Setup this year was comparative breeze due to the super job coordinated by Bruce (N6OLT) to have the tower trailer rigged for carrying ALL of the antennas support gear. The tower trailer now carries tha main tower as well as three of the accessory towers ranging in height to 55ft. Four HF antennas and a vast array of VHF/UHF antennas are stowed on the trailer along with all the feedlines, guylines, anchors and so forth.

The final tabulation of the scores is yet to be completed, the preliminary accounting looks like we beat our score from last year... a trend that has been continuing for many years now. Phone turned in something in excess of 800 contacts, while CW was more than 1200. The entry of Tom with more than 150 contacts on PSK31 and the points contributed by Dick and first-timer Tony on 6M-and-up also boosted scores to new levels.
A special thanks to all the other operators who helped with food logistics or setup or who just showed up for a visit. I know there were those who I haven't had a chance to meet. Here are a few of the calls I remember: Lou (N6ZKJ), Paul (W6VLM), and Don (KE6UGY). Shaw invited many friends who came up just for the pleasure of packing up... and many more.
